It all started in Vienna at the University of Applied Arts, where Barbara Rihl was a student of Karl Lagerfeld for two years, and then of the equally famous Jill Sander. After the University of Vienna, Barbara was accepted into the New York School of Design, and began working as a fashion designer in Hong Kong, where she led collections for several brands at once. This experience allowed the young designer to demonstrate taste and sense of style, the ability to listen and work in a team.
Barbara soon moved to Paris, where she continued to work for various global brands, but worked most closely with Kenzo. After a while, active work had to be abandoned for the sake of a little daughter. So in 2000, Barbara’s own line appeared. The collection of designer bags became a hit, and the new name appeared in the windows of famous department stores in Paris – Le Bon Marche, L`eclaireur, Colette Paris, as well as in Hong Kong and Japan.
Barbara Rihl’s leather bags, clutches and other fashion accessories are inspired by her beloved pop art and the work of Andy Warhol. Each work is a story in a comic style, with a plot and intrigue, as well as an opportunity for fantasy.
